About Us

The Blue Hills Heritage Foundation is a non-profit organization formed in September 2018 and is based in the city of Lucas, "The Grassroots Art Capital of Kansas," and is currently awaiting IRS confirmation of its 501(c) 3 status.

The Foundation administrates the Kansas Film & TV Hall of Fame, the Russell County Kansas Hall of Fame, and the Lucas Wall of Honor.

Long range plans are to fundraise for and erect a permanent museum building to house the Halls of Fame.

These goals are in line with the Foundation’s mission statement:

“Dedicated to preserving, presenting, and promoting the heritage and culture of the community of Lucas as it impacts the county of Russell, the state of Kansas, the nation, and the world.”
